Landscape Trailers

Throughout the years NC Trailers has sold and serviced several landscape trailers. We offer a variety of options for you to choose from and make the buying process easy.

BENEFITS OF OPEN TRAILERS FOR LANDSCAPE + UTILITY

Visibility: It is undeniable that an open trailer is going to be easier for you to maneuver on the roadways. You'll be able to see behind you at all angles and this also makes it while reversing into tight areas. Not to mention, you can keep an eye on your cargo.

Loading/Accessibility: You can unload and access equipment, tools, and other cargo easier because of the open structure and low sides. If you need to grab a blower or a gas can then just reach over, unload, and complete the task at hand.

Better for debris: Not knowing what type of debris you'll encounter on the job, an open trailer gives you the flexibility of open space to handle hauling unexpected sizes and shapes. It's also easy and quick to clean.

Weight: Open landscape trailers are generally less in weight because there are less parts involved in the construction of the trailer. This means you'll need less towing capacity on your vehicle and it won't do as much wear on your vehicle over time. Save on fuel and service fees by going the lightweight option.

Price: If you're on a budget one of our open utility & landscape trailer options will be your best bet.

BENEFITS OF ENCLOSED TRAILERS FOR LANDSCAPE + UTILITY

Protection: When you haul cargo and equipment in an enclosed trailer you're keeping them out of the elements. Protecting them from weather and any kind of debris that fly on the road. This is an advantage in the summertime because a lot of storms tend to form in the late afternoon hours after a long humid day.

Security: Your cargo will be less likely to be stolen when situated inside an enclosed landscape trailer. Giving you peace of mind while you're working or parked in an unfamiliar area. If you're interested in locks for added protection, check out our options here.

Storage/time: When you're done with your day the weekend has come and you don't need to utilize your trailer, you can unhitch your trailer, lock it up and use it as a storage shed. You won't have to worry about unloading and loading it every time you want to use it, saving you time and money.

Branding: Although we don't do custom wraps or sell graphics there are plenty of companies out there to help boost your business exposure. Buying an enclosed trailer gives you the option to post your graphics on the sides and back of the trailer, doing the job of advertising your business year round.

SIZE MATTERS

The next factor you want to consider is the size of the trailer based on the type of cargo you're going to be hauling.

You'll make sure to take some measurements and make a list of the equipment you'll be transporting.

We offer enclosed trailers from ranges of 5ft to 8 1/2 ft wide and 8ft to 24ft long. Not to mention our custom ordering process where you can order trailers up to 40ft long.

We'll get into the custom ordering process later but if you need more help determining the size trailer you need, talk to one of our trailer pros.

Tell them what you'll be hauling, the jobs you're doing and they'll help you choose the right size. They have lots of experience fitting our customers with the correct trailer for particular jobs.

KNOW HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU NEED TO TOW

Another important factor is choosing the right GVWR and hauling capacity of the trailer.

If you would like to learn more about weight ratings then head over to our blog post written on that topic here.

So, just like the size, you're going to want to account for a list of everything you'll potentially be hauling with your trailer.

Calculate the total weight of the cargo and then make sure the trailer has the correct max payload to support the weight you're going to haul.

The easiest way to calculate this number is by taking the GVWR of the trailer and subtract the weight of the trailers.

So if the GVWR of the trailer is 10K and the trailer weighs 2,200 pounds. Then your max payload= (10,000-2,200 ) = 7,800 lbs.

Therefore, all of your cargo put onto your trailer cannot exceed 7,800 lbs. This is why it is important to select the correct weight rating when buying a new trailer.

It will ensure your trailer last throughout the years of work. If you need help determining the correct weight ratings for the trailer you need, one of our trailer pros will be happy to help.
